Every two minutes a woman dies somewhere in the world from cervical cancer. Over 85% of these women come from developing countries. Often these are young mothers who are the backbone of the household and indispensable for the family income. When they are lost, this has major consequences for the family and the village where they live.
Female Cancer Foundation strives for a world without cervical cancer. We do this by providing care on site (screening and treatment), giving education and information, and conducting research in the respective country. We always work together with a local partner. We focus on good education for women (and men!) and train local health workers in the See & Treat method. This is a cost-effective and simple method where a woman is examined for the precursors of cervical cancer and, if necessary, treated immediately.
